At D.R.E., James provides a full-service capability that encompasses every facet of commercial real estate, including leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, consulting, and development services. James's market area consists of properties in the Opportunity Zone and the new Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project in the city of Inglewood, CA, near the SoFi Stadium. In the last 24 months, James has closed approximately $89M in real estate transactions and has another $15-20 Million in the pipeline.

Matthew Gates

Agent

Matthew Gates is a licensed agent, published researcher, and real estate consultant that brings nearly a decade worth of commercial experience to Daughrity Real Estate. During that time, Matthew has provided market intelligence and financial analysis on multifamily, office, and industrial assets across Southern California for investors, developers, retail tenants, real estate professionals, and institutional clients.

He is the Founder and CEO of In The Building LA – a digital media platform dedicated to sharing real estate-related news and information on the people, projects, and policies impacting communities across South Los Angeles and Inglewood.

Mr. Gates graduated from UCLA, where he studied African American History and Economics. He has also participated in USC’s Ross Minority Program for Real Estate Development, as well as the Project REAP (Real Estate Associate Program).

Most recently, Matthew served on the Board of Directors for the African-American Real Estate Professionals of Los Angeles (AAREP LA) and is currently a senior advisor for Studio Atao – a community-based think tank that works with restaurants and hospitality businesses to combat gentrification and displacement.
